Morehouse School of Medicine celebrated its 27th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
A time honored tradition and highly anticipated occasion, commencement is a celebration for the MSM community, families, and friends of our graduates - 92 of whom received their M.D., Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Master of Public Health, Master of Science in Clinical Research, Master of Science in Biomedical Research, Master of Science in Biomedical Technology, and Master of Science in Clinical Research degrees.
Serving as the keynote speaker was Reed V. Tuckson, M.D., executive vice president and chief of medical affairs at UnitedHealth Group. Dr. Tuckson is responsible for working with all of the company's business units to improve the quality and efficiency of health services. Learn more
This year's honorary degree recipient was Mirian Shropshire, M.D., former medical director and vice president of West End Medical Center and former director of Southside Community Health Center.
